Our vision is to help students achieve a complete education in Architecture derived from a deep understanding of their social environment, cultural heritage and their own place within these contexts. We want students to forge identities by exploring inner selves, and emerge as leaders fully equipped for a responsible and ethical practice. Our mission is to help students do that effectively by adopting a hands-on approach to everything backed by a keen awareness of their milieu.
Developing Liberal & Critical thinking
At WCFA, we fully support an inquisitive attitude to promote a constant state of enquiry. Students are encouraged to ask questions and engage in debates to cultivate liberal and critical thinking.
We have designed experiential activities that bring together different sub-disciplines to foster an interconnected learning atmosphere . Weaving together various subjects through ‘make and do’ activities creates a sensible, cumulative tapestry at the end of each semester, which every student can be proud of.
Primacy of Settlement Studies
In a unique approach, a location is selected for in-depth study and the design opportunity is identified within this local context. Students are encouraged to think, reflect and create with the local community in mind. The complexity of the programme increases as the semesters progress. Students explore projects of larger scope as their competencies and creative skills broaden.
Allow for intuitive exploration
We urge students to cultivate their freedom of thought and uninhibitedly explore their ideas rather than rely heavily on academic instruction.
Multiple perspectives towards a cohesive whole
We have designed experiential activities that bring together different sub-disciplines to foster an interconnected learning atmosphere . Weaving together various subjects through ‘make and do’ activities creates a sensible, cumulative tapestry at the end of each semester, which every student can be proud of. We help students develop holistic strengths by melding aesthetic, technical, design, and thought-based approaches based on strong research.
Exploring design empowers students to develop critical thinking and innovation in the domain of built environment, creative skills and sustainability. WCFA aims to give students opportunities in architecture, art, and design, through a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and research and enquiry-based teaching model.
